NOKIA UNLOCKING · SINCE 2002
Old phones. A curious mind. A lot of unlock codes.
UnlockMe began as a hobby website with a straightforward aim: help people unlock their Nokia phones, understand the tools involved and find the cheapest — often free — way to do it.
What grew around that idea was a collection of tutorials, calculators, downloads and news from a time when mobile phones had physical keypads, tiny screens and plenty of room for tinkering.
Why I built UnlockMe
The original site brought practical advice together in one place. If you wanted to unlock a Nokia, work out which data cable you needed, reset a security code or understand firmware flashing, the aim was to give you a useful starting point.
I wrote guides, followed new releases and kept adding to the site as the tools changed. The old news entries capture that process: tutorials finished, calculators updated, new discoveries shared — and occasional promises to find time for the next update.
The heart of the site: Nokia unlocking
DCT3 and DCT4 were the two Nokia generations at the centre of UnlockMe. The guides covered both cable-based methods and the unlock-code calculators that became such an important part of the scene.
Unlocking was only part of the picture. There were also guides to M-BUS and F-BUS cables, firmware versions, flashing, security codes, activating Line 2 and making handset LEDs fade.
The software authors and forum communities behind these tools deserve the credit for their discoveries. UnlockMe helped explain the options and make that knowledge easier to find.
A few moments from the archive
These milestones come from the original dated site news, preserved on the homepage.
9 July 2003 · Free DCT4 calculators
The site announced that the DCT4 Nokia unlock-code calculator had been released for free.
29 January 2004 · DCT3 codes online
A news entry celebrated a free online DCT3 calculator, credited MONO and pointed beginners towards the UnlockMe tutorial.
20 October 2008 · A Dreamweaver refresh
An update recorded work on the website’s appearance: “built this in dreamweaver. Hope to improve the look with time.”
22 March 2009 · The online unlocker
The site announced its own online unlocker for older Nokia handsets — and made clear that it was free.
October 2026 · A new chapter
The WordPress redesign brings the original Nokia focus into a clearer layout, with easier navigation and the historic news kept alongside new updates.
Remember “Enter site”?
For years, UnlockMe welcomed visitors with a separate gateway page. A blue banner, a short introduction and an “Enter” link led through to the main site. It is part of UnlockMe’s history, so it has a home here too.

Keeping the useful bits
This refresh is about keeping UnlockMe useful and enjoyable to explore: the free calculators, the practical guides, the blue identity and the record of how the unlocking scene developed. The existing live calculators remain available while the redesign takes shape.
Some downloads and external links have disappeared over the years. The archive keeps their context, while recovery work continues where original files can be found. Old prices, services, compatibility claims and instructions should be read in the period they came from.
New bulletins will sit alongside the original news, recording what has been restored, rewritten or added next.
UnlockMe is an independent hobby website, not affiliated with Nokia or any mobile network. Its archive focuses on classic handsets; it is not a modern smartphone unlocking service.
