You may be aware that Nokia’s BB5 range of handsets cannot be unlocked. This has been the case for quite some time.
Nokia’s older DCT 4 range of handsets have been easy to unlock using unlock code calculators.
BUT some of the newer budget Nokia handsets have caused a little surprise. Although these are still DCT4 handsets they cannot be unlocked by code. They use a completely new ASIC type – ASIC 11 (previously there was only ASIC 2,5,6 & 7).
Currently ASIC 11 handset range includes the following models:
1110i, 1112, 1600, 2310, 2610
I am confident that a solution to these ASIC 11 handsets is not too far off (much closer than the BB5 solution that’s for sure!). Watch this space for a code solution coming soon!
